Proverbs 1:8,9 8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. 9 They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.
Observation/Application: Our immediate reaction is to think of our own parents as we read verse 8. In the context of the passage Solomon is writing to his son and he is saying, “Hey I’m the wisest person in the entire world, listen to what I have to say cuz it’s going to benefit you big time.” Now for you, your probably not living under your parents household anymore but there are people who are wiser than you. My challenge is to seek them out. Invite them into your life and learn from them. Be challenged by them, and enjoy the wisdom they have; for they will be able to exhort us and warn us when we stray from the path of righteousness.
Prayer: Father bring people into our lives whose wisdom points us to you.
Amen
Blessings,
Steve
