Observation/Application: Paul is being a cheerleader. Keep going, don’t give up, and remember who we serve. I can just imagine Paul as he penned these words, his excitement as he imagined the opportunities his readers had in showing a sincere love. This morning I was bummed with what happened with Ted Haggard. His confession, the lies, the deceit, all brought out to the light exposed.  What would Paul say to Ted Haggard’s church? Keep going, keep your spiritual fervor and zeal for we do not serve Ted Haggard but we serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Let us, Bernal Church, not serve to please men but serve with fervor and zeal because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Father, may Bernal Church serve with the fervor and zeal Paul talks about in your power and strength and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
