Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.Observation/Application: When I was a kid we had a favorite saying..."I’m rubber your glue what bounces off me sticks to you.” How easy it is to sling an insult or curse right back on to the one who gave it. Paul’s instructions, which are very much like the beatitudes given by Christ, is to challenge the reader to sling blessing back instead of curses. The one thing I have learned is that blessings take time, energy, thought, and love.
Curses on the other hand take no time, and are usually thrown from the guts of our inner man. Today let’s see how many blessings we can throw to those who are around us.
Prayer: Father, please show us the opportunities to give blessing and forgive me for the times I have thrown curses.
